My First Blog

So here goes, my first blog/tutorial. Please bare with me while I get used to this whole blogging thing :)

This is a quick card made while little one was sleeping.

Things you'll need:

  • Sheena card
  • Distress oxides ( Spiced marmalade, Cracked pistachio, Fired brick, Wilted violet and Broken china )
  • Tea bag distress ink
  • Versafine Oynx Black
  • Black card
  • Brushed Rose - Satin effect card
  • Inspired by Banksy stamp from Bee Crafty
  • Crackle background stamp from Bee Crafty
  • Dovecrafts 3d Pearl effects

 Step One:

Cut down your Sheena card to what size you want. I'm not one for mesasuring unless I really have to lol. Smoosh down on your craft sheet Spiced marmalade, Cracke pistachio and Fired brick oxides. Spritz with water untill ink is maily droplets then drag your card blank through. Splash a few droplets of water and dry. Repeat untill happy with coverage.

Step Two:

Smoosh some Wilted violet and spritz with water and instead of dragging your card just pick up the ink lightly with the card in roughly the place you want the purple. Dry and then repeat this step but with the Broken china.

Step Three:

Once your happy with your background, make sure the card is completly dry. Ink up the crackle stamp with Tea Dye distress ink. I personally didn't use an acrylic block or stamping platform for this part, as I want more of a distressed look but you can use one if you wish. Stamp the crackle stamp all over the background. Don't worry if you miss bits you can always go back over it or leave it to add the the effect.

Step Four:

Next ink up the inspired by banksy stamp and stamp onto your card. I used my stamp platform so I inked the stamp up a couple of times to make the image darker. The quote at the bottom of the card is from a stamp set I got free with creative stamping magazine, but you can add any quote or sentiment you wish.

Step Five:

Take your black card to matt and the burnished rose to layer. Like I said before I don't like to measure so I just stick the card on in the corner and cut by eye. Then put your finished piece on a card blank (mine is just A4 folded in half) and use the dovecrafts 3d pearls to add the finishing touch.

There we go my first blog/tutorial. I hope it was easy to follow and understand. I'm not the best with words lol. If you have any questions feel free to comment and I'll do my best to answer them. Hopefully I'll be able to blog reguarly depending on if the kids let me. Thank you for taking the time to read and hope enjoyed it.

Untill next time.
