Da Vinci Hochanda samples

Morning crafters. Hope you've all had a lovely crafty week. This week's blog will be showing my samples for the gorgeous Da Vinci stamps that our beautiful Bev took on hochanda on Saturday.

You can find all the stamp used here and dinkables used here

I used distress oxides for this sample. The cogs, XL script, Science of beauty and the Da Vinci Wings for this sample.

I used oxides again for this sample, Da vinci wings, Cogs, Sforza Horse and the honeycomb dinkable. Also one of the easy frames.

On one of the MDF tags I painted with pebeo pear, Stamped the cogs with black memento. Stamped the vitruvian man onto some tissue paper and stuck on with modpoge. To finish I added some clear gems.

For this sample I used normal distress inks. I coloured the vitruvian man with a gold aquatint. On the background I used the honeycomb dinkable and clear embossed the wings. I also clear embossed some of the ticker tape sentiments onto black card and then lightly went over with one of the gold lustre luxes using my finger.

For this sample I did a technique called triple layered stamping. ( there's plenty of tutorials to look through on you tube) Used distress inks, Science of beauty, Da vinci wings, one of the keys, Time sentiment and the XL script

I used distress oxides and the smooshing technique for this one. The Sforza horse, part of the pocket watch stamp and the time flies sentiment.

This is probably my favourite one I made using the vitrovian man. I stamped him out 4 times and coloured with some sparkle pens. I then triple embossed each one and then popped in the freezer for a few mins. When I took them out I bended the card so they would crack. I also used the XL script on the card blank.

Until next week

Masking Technique

Me again with last blog of the day, so hope you enjoy this one as well.

What you'll need :

  • Sheena card, Black card and card blank
  • Distress oxides - Fossilised amber, Spiced marmalade and Fired brick
  • Versafine Onyx black
  • Bee crafty laugh live dream stamp
  • Bee crafty wildflower 3
  • Bee crafty d'inkables distressed harlequin
  • Masking tape

Step 1:

Cut some sheena card down to whatever size you wish (as you know I don't measure unless I need to ) Put some masking tape on your card leaving a small panel showing. Then blend some fossilised amber and spiced marmalade in small sections and alternating between the two. Spritz some water to form some droplets over the oxides and blot off with some kitchen towel.

Step 2:

With the distressed harlequin d'inkable stencil blend some fired brick oxide through and work your way down the panel.

Step 3:

Ink up the wildflower stamp in versafine and stamp randomly all over the panel. Once you're happy with how it looks carefully remove the masking tape on both sides. Then ink up the laugh live dream stamp in versafine and stamp it in the position you'd like on the card.

Step 4:

Finally just matt the card onto some black card ( optional step I went round the edges of the black card with spectrum nior clear sparkle pen ) and then just mount onto your card blank

Easy peasy, well I hope it is for you and it makes sense. Please leave any questions or comments you may have.

Until next time

Easy Frame Circle

Hey crafters, second blog of the day. Trying to get as many done today as I can so sorry if you get sick of me.

Here's the second card of the day

What you'll need:

  • Sheena card, Gold glitter card, Black card 7x7 card blank
  • Distress oxides - Fossilised Amber, Spiced Marmalade and Fired Brick
  • Versamark
  • Black embossing powder
  • White acrylic paint
  • Circle stencil
  • Bee crafty easy template circle
  • Bee crafty Laugh Live Dream stamp
  • Bee crafty backdrop frames circle splatter stamp
  • Clear nuvo drops

Step 1:

Cut some sheena card to 6x6inch, place the circle template with the solid circle removed. Blend in random places the 3 colours of oxides. Then take your blending tool and pick some ink and make random circles all over. And then with a circle stencil paint a thin layer of white paint through the stencil. My last blog explains it better I'll pop a link here

Step 2:

Remove the circle template and the place the solid circle mask over your background. You can either hold it in place or spray some stick and spray on the back like I did. Take the circle splatter stamp and ink up the swirly bits in fossilised amber and stamp all round the edge of the cicle. If you miss a few bits you can always put some ink on your craft sheet and paint it in with a fine paint brush.

Step 3:

Once you're happy with how it looks remove the circle mask. Make sure all ink and paint is dry. Stamp the laugh live dream sentiment in the centre of the circle with versamark, Pour some black embossing powder over and then heat set.

Step 4:

Last but not least matt onto some gold glitter card and layer with some black then adhere to your card blank. And for a finishing touch add some clear nuvo drops just randomly in the circle.

And that's all that's to it. Hope you enjoyed this blog. Any question please feel free to ask me or leave a comment.

Until next time

Bokeh Effect Oxides

Hey everyone. I've got a few blogs for you over today and tomorrow. Got a lot to catch up on. So lets get started with the first one. As always please leave comments and feel free to ask any questions.

What you'll need:

  • Sheena card, Black glitter card, Blue card, White card blank
  • Distress oxides - Iced Spruce, Broken China and Faded Jeans
  • Versafine Oynx Black
  • White acrylic paint
  • Circle stencil
  • Round blending tool and foam
  • Bee Crafty Laugh Live Dream stamp
  • Bee Crafty Delight stamp
  • Nuvo drops blue glitter and clear

Step 1:

Cut your Sheena card down to size. In random place blend all the oxides until the card is cover in all 3 colours. Once you're happy take your blending tool pick up some ink and just dab the ink on the card so it leaves you with a circle. Repeat with all the colours and overlap some of the circles.

Step 2:

Next take a circle stencil ( if you don't have one you can create your own buy cutting circles out with a die or circle cutter, on some card or acetate and do different sizes ), paint a thin layer of the white paint through the stencil and do the circles in different sizes and random places all over the back ground.

Step 3:

Once the paint is dry, ink up the laugh live dream stamp with versafine and stamp in the middle of the card. Mount the Delight stamp onto a block and mask off the most of the stamp and just leaving the swirly bits. Ink up with versafine and stamp all round the edge of the card.

Step 4:

Then matt the card onto some black glitter card and then layer with some dark blue card and adhere to your card blank. And to finish the card off add some of the nuvo glitter drops and the clear drops randomly over the card and leave to dry.

And that's it. Hope you found this easy to follow, and inspires you to create.

Until next time

Easy Oxide Background

Afternoon crafters. Second blog of the day while the little one is playing with daddy lol.

This card is really easy and quick to make as long as you don't keep getting distracted like I did last night watching pretty little liars and looking at facebook. Us women really do know how to multi-task ;)

What you'll need:

  • Sheena card, Black card and 6x6 card blank
  • Distress oxides - Cracked pistachio, Wilted violet and Broken china
  • Versafine Onyx Black
  • Bee Crafty Lustre luxe Honey Pearl
  • Bee Crafty Butterflies set 1 stamps
  • Bee CraftyWORDage Wake Wonderful stamp

Step 1:

Cut some sheena card to 5.5x5.5. On your craft sheet/blending matt put down some Broken Chine Oxide, mist with water until droplets form and smoosh/drag your card through until your happy with the amount you have on the card. While wet with your water bottle/fingers/paint brush flick some droplets on to the card. Blot of excess water with a kitchen towel. Repeat this with the Wilted Violet and then the Cracked Pistachio. Then dry with your heat tool when your happy with how the background looks.

Step 2:

Using your finger gently blend some Honey Pearl Lustre Luxe around the edge of the card. Stamp the Wake Wonderful sentiment into the middle of the card in the Onyx Black. Take the half of the butterfly from the set and stamp where you want to near the sentiment just to add a little something extra. You could colour this in if you wish.

Step 3:

Now just use some black card to matt it with then simply pop it onto your card blank.

And it's as easy as that :) Feel free to ask any questions or leave a comment.

Quick Easy Canvas

Morning everyone. Hope you're all well. I have a couple of blogs for you today. So I best get started with the first one. As ever please feel free to leave comments or ask questions :)

So this is a quick and easy canvas I made last night.

What you'll need:

  • 8x8 approx canvas (I got a pack of 4 from BnM for a few quid)
  • decoCreme pebeo acrylic paint Pearl
  • Bee Crafty Honey Pearl lurste luxe
  • Bee Crafty XL Script backdrop stamp
  • Bee Crafty Delight stamp
  • Bee Crafty Splat 1 stamp
  • Heatproof acetate
  • Silver and Black embossing powder
  • Versamark
  • Crafters Companion Spray and Shine

Step 1:

Cover the canvas with  pearl decoCreme. Do a couple of coats to make sure you've cover the canvas. You can prime with some gesso first, but I didn't as the pepeo are a good quality paint.

Step 2:

Once the canvas is dry, which doesn't take long about 5/10 mins depending on how many coats you did, with your blending foam lightly dab the lustre luxe onto the script stamp. Lightly mist with water and then stamp straight onto the canvas. You might want to put something hard underneath the canvas to make it easier to stamp onto. Keep repeating until you've done the whole canvas.

Step 3:

Stamp 7 splats onto the heatproof acetate with your versamark. Then pour silver embossing powder and heat set. Then stamp the delight stamp onto the acetate and heat set with the black embossing powder. Cut all the splats and the delight stamp out. You don't have to cut accurately just cut out as best you can.

Step 4:

Glue the splats and the delight stamp onto the canvas using a dries clear glue. I used mod podge but you can you use what ever strong dries clear glue you may have. Once your happy with where you want to place everything and you've glued it all down, give it a quick spray of the spray and shine and leave for half an hour.

And that's all there is to it. Hope you enjoyed this blog and inspires you to get crafty :)

Until next time

Distress Crayon Background

Me again. Last one for today I promise :) I am a little bit in love with how this one turned out even though I made a mistake but shhhh it worked out for the best.

What you'll need:

  • Sheena card, Black card and Cream card.
  • Distress crayons - Cracked pistachio, Tumbled glass and Peacock feathers
  • Bee Crafty Delight stamp
  • Bee Crafty Wake Every Morning Wordage stamp
  • Diamond stencil
  • Stayzon Black
  • Versmark
  • Silver and White embossing powder

Step 1:

Cut your sheena card down to size. Scribble in small spots at a time some cracked pistachio and tumbled glass distress crayons and blend with your finger. It's best to do it in small areas at a time so your able to smudge the crayons easily. Keep scribbling the crayons randomly until you have covered the whole card.

Step 2:

Use whatever stencil you may have. I used this diamond one, but I can't remember what make it is. You can either tape the stencil down or just hold it in place. Spritz plenty of water through the stencil and then rub off the water and crayon off through the stencil. Alternatively you could use a baby wipe. If you used water you might want to give it a quick blast with your heat tool.

Step 3:

Place your stencil back over as best you can and scribble a little bit of the peacock feathers crayon through the stencil and smudge with your finger. Just put some diamonds or whatever your pattern you're using in random places.

Step 5:

Next take the delight stamp ink up with stayzon and stamp in the middle of the card. Now here is where I messed up a little. It wasn't coming out solid enough for me so I decided I was going to stamp in versamark and heat emboss, but as I stamped over with the versamark I hadn't lined it up correctly so I ended up with a little shadow type thing round it which after I heat embossed the silver embossing powder, it actually looked really nice and gave a cool effect. So just shows sometimes a mistake you make can be a happy mistake :)

Step 6:

Ink up the WORDage stamp with versamark and stamp underneath the Delight image. Heat emboss with white embossing powder. Then simply just matt and layer with the black and cream card.

That's it from me today I promise lol. Hopefully I'll be able to keep up with my blogs so you don't hear from me 3 times in one day lol. As always please leave comments or ask any questions.
